The Loss of Beryl Cook

It’s always sad for us when we suffer the loss of an artist; but one as popular and distinctive as Beryl Cook, whose talent has been making us smile for decades, is especially difficult.

Beryl died peacefully on 28th of May, at her home in Plymouth, aged 81. Beryl had lived in Plymouth for over 25 years, and much of her inspiration came from observations of the place she so happily resided. It is easy to see her love of the colourful members of her community by looking at her works!

We have been inundated with orders for Beryl’s work over the last month; it is sad but true that often works of art become so much more popular after an artists death. The national press coverage of Beryl’s passing was so huge that it is bound to draw attention to her work in a way that sometimes isn’t possible while an artist is living. Having said that – Beryl’s work has always sold consistently, and here at CollectorsPrints.co.uk, we consider her to be one of our most popular artists! She has paved the way for many other artists working in the naïve genre.

Beryl’s signed prints will only be available for a limited period; once they are sold out, there will of course be no further access to signed Limited Editions from her. We suggest checking out Beryl’s best works here, and choosing your favourite before it is completely sold out. Please contact us if you have any further questions about her artworks.

Wildlife Art Takes Flight

Artists working with wildlife based subjects are experiencing a new lease of life on CollectorsPrints.co.uk.  With artist Pip McGarry recently selling his painting ‘Flight of the Zebras’ at Christie’s auction house for over £29,000, we have experienced an upsurge of sales for pieces with a wildlife based theme. Pip’s prints start at just over £100! Jonathan Truss’s work is stunning, especially on canvas – we love the piece ‘Ice Dream’. Robert Bateman has been added to CollectorsPrints due to popular demand; his work is soft in colour and shows a delicate side of nature. David Dancey Wood’s detailed black and white images are absolutely stunning, and Dominique Salm showcases her own unique take on her favourite animals.

We Recommend
Free Range

Free Range

Every year thousands of Art Graduates from across the UK exhibit their work at their individual university campuses across the UK. However, the more enterprising among them also raise money in order to take their graduate shows to London, where there is more chance of the work being seen by a larger number, and often higher calibre, of people.

Free Range is held at the Old Truman Brewery on Brick Lane during June and July each summer. This unique exhibition is a perfect way to open your mind about the fresh and diverse range of work pouring out of this country’s most established art institutions. We recommend visiting the exhibition on a few separate occasions over the 2 month period, as work is being added and taken away constantly.

Don’t miss out on this great opportunity!
