The Art of Photography

The relationship between art and photography has long been debated, with photography often looked down upon as the less important artistic medium, or merely as a sidekick to traditional art techniques.

However, the use of photographic inspiration and influence is rife in contemporary art. Indeed, this is in itself a tradition which goes back to the invention of photography. Photography will always be a hugely unique tool to many artists, especially in a modern society which relies so heavily on the immediacy of imagery.
