Andrei Protsouk

Andrei Protsouk was born in Donetsk, Ukraine. Demonstrating immense talent from a young age, Andrei continued to pursue a career within the arts. He graduated from the Lugansk State School of Fine Art in 1981. This was followed by a Masters Degree and was awarded to him in 1990 by the Repine Academy of Fine Arts.

Following in the footsteps of his parents (His father was a photographer and his mother a master embroiderer). Protsouk studied under Evsey Moiseenko – a world renowned contemporary of Marc Chagall and Pablo Picasso. Moiseenko noticed the talent with Andrei almost immediately and took him under his wing.

His early work consists of the melancholy of the soviets living conditions. He used heavy textures and dark colours as a way to portray this.

In 1994 Protsouk moved to the US with his family and very quickly established himself as a poignant Abstract/Contemporary artist. Since moving to the America Andrei’s artwork has turned more colourful depicting the Joy and Love that now surrounds him in the US.

Inspiration

Protsouk is not afraid to demonstrate his talent using vibrant colours and intricate shapes alongside varied textures. Above all this Andrei loves to go big! A lot of his artwork are produces on large canvases and can play a big part in a room.

Andrei has perfected a unique technique of hand painting and embellishing his canvas prints. Each image is treated to several hours of hand embellishment that creates a copy as close to the original as possible.

He has an artistic ability that delights. Dominating the composition is a palpable sense of gorgeous texture and everywhere, the artist’s superb mastery of a gifted line.

Andrei now works and owns his own gallery in Pennsylvania. He continues to experiment with a variety of mediums and subjects. Continuously showing his love and devotion for his artwork, you can see the evident passion and dedication in every piece.

Success

Having had a very fast-paced and amazing commercial success, Andrei completed commissions for Johnnie Walker and Coca Cola. Private celebrity Collectors include George Bush and is considered to have a massive investment potential.
