Sheryl Roberts

Sheryl is a contemporary landscape artist with an award-winning reputation. Sheryl’s vision of tumultuous skies and chaotic terrains has earned her international acclaim, dubbed “the Turner of the North.” Sheryl’s distinct style can be traced back to her unique view of the dramatic light piercing the vast sky.

Since 1999, Sheryl has been painting professionally and divides her time between her studios in Leeds and Weardale, County Durham. Sheryl gets her inspiration from the wind-swept high moorlands of the North Pennines, and her aim is to portray the connection between the sky and the environment.

Sheryl Roberts paints mostly in oils, gradually layering them with brushes and knives to create vibrance and depth to each work. Despite the fact that Sheryl’s work is rather traditional, she strives for a very current appearance.

Sheryl has exhibited at various locations across the UK and New York, Amsterdam, Paris, and other foreign cities. Sheryl continues to create unique pieces for private commissions throughout the United Kingdom and abroad.
