Dale Bowen was born and bred in Staffordshire. Where he still currently lives and works with his family. Dale started his career as a master potter for 2 companies. This is where his career begun and where stayed for more than fifteen years. Before finding his first love of painting and continuing to provide us with his amazing artistic talent.

Dale Bowen worked for two very renowned companies within these fifteen years. The first company being, Coalport China. This was the first porcelain factory in Coalbrookdale, Shropshire. Bowen again commissioned a piece for the 250th anniversary of Coalport. Following on from that Bowen then turned to Josiah Wedgwood and Sons. This was commonly known as Wedgwood. Again this was also a fine china, porcelain and accessory company which Bowen used to his artistic gain. Dale’s work was showcased globally fetching in prices above and beyond £100,000.

Since leaving Wedgwood Dale has gained a Masters Degree in Ceramics. Studying locally at Staffordshire University. (The first time he had studied since studying at an art college in Newcastle). As Dale’s success grew so did his true love of painting. This leading to more recently returning to his paintbrushes. Again experiencing wonderful success creating whimsical, playful originals and limited editions. The joy in his painting is evident in each and every piece he composes.

Over the fifteen years, Dale created many prestigious pieces of pottery. Most notably a commission for the Queen Mothers 100th Birthday. As well as the HMS Victory celebrations. And most recently a commission for The Battle of Trafalgar’s 200 years celebrations in the Portsmouth Naval Museum. Here he presented a plaque to the queen for the event on board the ship ‘victory’.

All of Dale Bowen’s work contains hidden elements. This generates both a child and adult love of his work. Whether this is animals, people and vehicles hidden beneath such a vivid and multicoloured landscape.

You can tell from the humorous titles that Dale loves what he does. Each of his pieces tells a story. The story continues from piece to piece making his work even more lovable. Many of his pieces are almost cartoon-like. Buildings are askew. Lots of repetition, but unique in their own way. This makes them very original and very much sought after!

The wonderful artistic flare from Dale Bowen makes him a sell-out artist, consistently selling out in record time. Then leaving you again, waiting for more and for the story to continue.

We hope you love Dale Bowen’s artwork as much as we do, and know that once you have one you will want them all! (we’re sure you could fine some wall space somewhere!)
